Manchester City officially announced during the ten-year collaboration with Etihad Airways to rename the City of Manchester Stadium become Etihad Stadium. Etihad Stadium Inauguration name was submitted by the executive director of City Garry Cook and Etihad Airways chief executive, James Hogan.

“We are very proud to expand cooperation with Etihad Airways through a comprehensive cooperation agreement,” said Cook on the City’s official website. “This is one of the most important partnership in the history of world football,” he continued.

“In addition to providing significant revenue at a key stage in the evolution of the club, this agreement creates an exciting opportunity for both sides to cooperate more in the media as well as commercial and collaborative initiatives in the future,” Etihad Airways has also announced the launch of twice-daily flights between Manchester and Abu Dhabi starting on 1 August.
