Newcastle United’s Fabricio Coloccini officially appointed as the new captain for next season, replacing Kevin Nolan. The Magpies no longer have a captain since Nolan sold to West Ham last season. Newcastle manager Alan Pardew Coloccini finally appointed as the right man to lead his squad in the upcoming season.

Following the decision Pardew appointed him as captain, Coloccini says, “I am very pleased to be appointed as captain of Newcastle. This is one amazing moment in my career,” “Leading the team in front of fans in the first game for Arsenal is a great honor for me,” “I will try to provide the best for the team and the fans next season, ”

“I am also grateful to Alan Pardew who has given confidence in me, it means a lot,” Coloccini was elected as a captain to get rid of the other candidates, the senior goalkeeper Steve Harper, academy products Newcastle defender Steven Taylor, and experienced midfielder Joey Barton.
